These Terms & Conditions set out the terms on which Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides exterior cleaning and related services to customers (“you”, “your”).

By accepting a quotation, booking our services or otherwise instructing us to carry out work, you agree to these Terms & Conditions.

1. Our Services

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd provides exterior cleaning and related property services, which may include:

  • Pressure washing and soft washing

  • Driveway and patio cleaning

  • Gutter cleaning

  • Fascia and soffit cleaning

  • Render and wall cleaning

  • Roof cleaning

  • Conservatory and exterior surface cleaning

  • Window and external glass cleaning

  • Other exterior cleaning services agreed with you

The exact services to be provided will be confirmed in your quotation, booking confirmation or other written agreement.

We will carry out our services with reasonable care and skill and in accordance with the service agreed with you.

2. Quotations

All quotations provided by Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd are based on the information available to us at the time of quotation.

Where possible, quotations may be based on a site assessment, photographs, measurements or information supplied by you.

A quotation may need to be revised if, once work begins, we discover conditions that could not reasonably have been identified beforehand.

Any additional work or charges will be discussed with you and, where reasonably practicable, agreed before additional work is carried out.

Unless otherwise stated, quotations are valid for the period specified on the quotation.

3. Prices

The price payable will be the price agreed between you and Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd.

Where VAT applies, this will be stated separately or included in the quoted price as appropriate.

We will not increase an agreed price after the contract has been formed unless:

  1. You request additional work;

  2. The scope of the work materially changes;

  3. Conditions are discovered that could not reasonably have been identified when the quotation was provided; or

  4. You agree to the revised price.

Any changes will be communicated to you before additional charges are incurred wherever reasonably possible.

4. Booking and Acceptance

A booking becomes confirmed when you accept our quotation or otherwise confirm that you wish Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd to carry out the agreed work.

We may require confirmation of the property address, contact details and details of the work required before accepting a booking.

The contract between you and Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd consists of the agreed quotation or booking details together with these Terms & Conditions.

5. Access to the Property

You are responsible for providing reasonable and safe access to the areas where work is to be carried out.

You should inform us before the appointment of any relevant issues, including:

  • Locked gates or restricted access

  • Parking restrictions

  • Areas that cannot be accessed

  • Private or shared access arrangements

  • Known hazards

  • Fragile or damaged surfaces

  • Underground or concealed services that may be relevant to the work

  • Any other circumstances that could affect the safe completion of the work

If we are unable to access the property or carry out the agreed work because suitable access has not been provided, we may need to rearrange the appointment.

6. Water and Electricity

Where our equipment requires access to a suitable water or electrical supply, you should make these available where this has been agreed as part of the service.

If an alternative arrangement is required, this should be discussed with Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd before the appointment.

7. Preparation Before Cleaning

You should remove or secure personal belongings, vehicles, garden furniture, ornaments, plant pots and other movable items from areas being cleaned wherever reasonably possible.

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd will take reasonable care around items that remain in the working area, but we cannot accept responsibility for damage to items that you have failed to remove or identify as particularly fragile.

You should also notify us of any surfaces, fixtures, fittings or other items that require special care.

8. Existing Damage and Surface Conditions

Exterior cleaning can reveal existing defects that may not be immediately visible before cleaning.

These may include:

  • Cracks

  • Loose render

  • Failed pointing

  • Damaged seals

  • Loose tiles

  • Flaking paint

  • Previous repairs

  • Deteriorated surfaces

  • Staining or discolouration beneath dirt or organic growth

  • Existing damage to gutters, fascias, soffits or other external components

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd will take reasonable care when carrying out the work. However, we cannot be responsible for defects or deterioration that existed before our work commenced.

Where we identify a significant concern before or during the work, we may recommend that the affected area is not cleaned or that the cleaning method is changed.

9. Cleaning Results

Exterior cleaning can significantly improve the appearance of a property, but Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd cannot guarantee that every stain, mark, discolouration or biological growth will be completely removed.

The final result may depend on:

  • The age and condition of the surface

  • The type of staining

  • Previous treatments

  • Weather exposure

  • Surface porosity

  • Existing damage

  • Paint or coating condition

  • Algae, moss, lichen or other organic growth

  • The cleaning method that is safe and appropriate for the surface

We will use an appropriate cleaning method based on the condition and nature of the surface.

Where a particular result cannot reasonably be guaranteed, we will explain this where practicable before work begins.

10. Weather Conditions

Some exterior cleaning services depend on suitable weather conditions.

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd reserves the right to postpone or rearrange work where weather conditions make it unsafe or where carrying out the work could reasonably affect the quality of the service.

This may include:

  • Heavy rain

  • Strong winds

  • Frost or freezing conditions

  • Extreme temperatures

  • Lightning

  • Other unsuitable or unsafe conditions

Where we need to rearrange an appointment for weather or safety reasons, we will make reasonable efforts to provide an alternative date.

11. Health and Safety

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd takes the safety of customers, employees, contractors and members of the public seriously.

We may refuse or stop work where we reasonably believe that conditions are unsafe.

This may include unsafe access, unstable surfaces, dangerous weather, hazardous substances, electrical hazards, structural concerns or other circumstances that present an unacceptable risk.

Where reasonably practicable, we will explain the reason for stopping or refusing work and discuss whether an alternative solution is available.

12. Customer Responsibilities

You agree to provide accurate information relevant to the services being requested.

You must tell us about any known circumstances that could affect the work, including fragile surfaces, previous damage, unusual construction materials, recent repairs, coatings or treatments.

You are also responsible for ensuring that any required permission to carry out the work has been obtained.

Where applicable, this may include permission from a landlord, property owner, factor, management company or other relevant person.

13. Payment

Payment is due in accordance with the payment terms stated on your quotation or invoice.

Unless otherwise agreed, payment is due upon completion of the work.

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd may require a deposit or advance payment for certain bookings. Where a deposit is required, the amount and applicable terms will be communicated to you before the booking is confirmed.

If payment is not made when due, we may suspend future services until the outstanding balance has been paid.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions affects your statutory rights.

14. Cancellation and Rearrangement

We understand that circumstances can change. If you need to cancel or rearrange an appointment, please contact Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd as soon as possible.

Where a cancellation causes us to incur reasonable costs or a genuine loss, we may seek to recover those costs where legally permitted.

Any cancellation or deposit charges will be reasonable and proportionate to the circumstances.

We will not automatically retain payments or charge cancellation fees where doing so would be unfair or contrary to your statutory rights.

Consumer cancellation rights may also apply depending on how and where the contract was entered into.

15. Cancellation by Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd

We may cancel or rearrange a booking where:

  • Weather or site conditions make the work unsafe;

  • The property or surface is unsuitable for the agreed cleaning method;

  • Required access has not been provided;

  • The customer has provided materially inaccurate information;

  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control prevent us from providing the service; or

  • Continuing with the work would present an unreasonable health or safety risk.

Where Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd cancels a booking for reasons within our responsibility and you have already paid for services that have not been provided, we will arrange an appropriate refund.

16. Damage and Liability

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd will take reasonable care when carrying out its services.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits any liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

In particular, nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

We will not be responsible for loss or damage caused by:

  • Pre-existing defects or deterioration;

  • Hidden or concealed defects;

  • Loose, defective or unstable materials;

  • Inadequate previous repairs;

  • Surfaces or materials that are unsuitable for the agreed cleaning method;

  • Items left in areas being cleaned despite reasonable instructions to remove them; or

  • Circumstances outside our reasonable control,

provided that Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd has acted with reasonable care and skill.

Nothing in this section affects your statutory rights.

17. Complaints

We want you to be satisfied with the services provided by Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd.

If you have a concern about our service, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible and explain the issue.

Where appropriate, we may inspect the affected area and, where the service has not been provided in accordance with the agreed contract, take reasonable steps to put matters right.

We ask that customers give us a reasonable opportunity to investigate and, where appropriate, rectify any issue before arranging for another contractor to carry out remedial work.

18. Guarantees and Repeat Treatments

Unless specifically stated in writing, our services do not constitute a guarantee that algae, moss, lichen, dirt, staining or other organic growth will not return.

The rate at which contamination returns depends on factors including weather, surrounding vegetation, shade, moisture and the condition of the surface.

Where Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd offers a specific guarantee or maintenance period, the terms of that guarantee will be provided separately.

19. Photographs

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd may take photographs of areas before and after cleaning for operational purposes, including documenting the condition of surfaces and the work carried out.

We will not use photographs containing identifiable personal information for promotional purposes without appropriate permission.

20. Subcontractors

Where necessary, Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd may use suitably qualified or experienced subcontractors to assist in providing services.

We remain responsible for the services provided under our agreement with you.

21. Events Outside Our Control

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd will not be liable for delays or failure to perform the services where this is caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Such circumstances may include severe weather, equipment failure, utility interruptions, road closures, accidents, illness, shortages of materials or other circumstances that could not reasonably have been prevented.

Where this occurs, we will make reasonable efforts to notify you and rearrange the service where appropriate.

22. Data Protection

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd will handle personal information in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation and our Privacy Policy.

Personal information may be used for purposes including:

  • Providing quotations;

  • Arranging appointments;

  • Communicating with customers;

  • Processing payments;

  • Maintaining business records; and

  • Dealing with enquiries or complaints.

Further information is available in our Privacy Policy.

23. Changes to These Terms

Clyde Coast Exterior Services Ltd may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

The version applicable to your booking will normally be the version in effect when you accepted the quotation or confirmed the booking, unless a change is required by law or otherwise agreed between you and us.

24. Severability

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that provision will be treated as removed or modified to the minimum extent necessary, while the remaining provisions will continue to apply.

25. Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Scotland.

Any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of the Scottish courts, subject to any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer protection legislation.

26. Your Statutory Rights

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to remove or restrict any rights you have under applicable consumer protection law.

Where you are a consumer, our services are subject to the statutory protections applicable to consumer contracts.

If any provision of these Terms & Conditions conflicts with a mandatory legal right, that legal right will take precedence.
